How to Remove Sweat Stains & Odors From Shirts

    White Shirts

    • 1). Place the shirt inside out on a flat surface with the sweat stains facing upward.

    • 2). Pour equal parts cool water and 3 percent hydrogen peroxide in a small container. Saturate a sponge in the mixture and wring out the excess liquid.

    • 3). Blot the outer edge of the sweat stains with the sponge while slowly moving inward toward the center. Let the mixture sit on the stains for 30 minutes.

    • 4). Launder the garment in cool water with 1/4 cup of laundry detergent. Repeat the process if the stain persists.

    Colored Shirts

    • 1). Place the shirt inside out on a flat surface with the sweat stains facing upward.

    • 2). Fill a small container with 1/2 cup cool water and 1 tbsp. of white vinegar. Saturate a sponge in the mixture and wring out the excess liquid.

    • 3). Blot the outer edge of the sweat stains with the sponge while slowly moving inward toward the center. Let the mixture sit on the stains for 30 minutes.

    • 4). Launder the garment in cool water with 1/4 cup of laundry detergent. Repeat the process if the stain persists.
