Is Eating Low Amounts Of Carbs The Best Fat Loss Diet?

Low carb diets have been around a long time as a means to lose weight, but were popularized by Dr.
Robert Atkins in 1972 as the best fat lost diet.
Since then, there have been many spin-off diets that vary the types and amounts of carbs to eat and not to eat to burn fat.
Many have vilified carbs, and as a consequence, have missed out on an important element that we need as a part of our basic diet.
Is going low carb the best way to get it done? The answer is not as clear-cut as "yes" or "no.
" First, we need to know what carbs are, and then we need to know what types of carbs are most beneficial to consume, and then how much we eat.
First, what are carbs? Carbohydrates, or "carbs" are one of the four macronutrients (the others are protein, fat, and water).
They are comprised of sugars, starch and fiber.
They are the primary source of energy that our bodies need.
They give us energy.
When we do not eat enough carbs, we feel tired, and our metabolism slows down.
This is not to say that all low carb diets are bad for us.
Second, there are right and wrong types of carbs to eat.
Let's begin with the wrong types.
Many consider cake, candy, and ice cream no-brainers when it comes to the best fat loss diet.
The underlying ingredient is usually high-fructose corn syrup.
But there are other carbs that should not be in our diet.
They should also be considered sugar white bread, pasta, or anything with enriched flour in it.
These foods should be eaten in very small amounts.
Milk and cheese also have carbs that we need to eat in moderation.
There are good carbs that we should eat in abundance.
Whole grains are at the top of the list.
If you are not into the gluten-free diets, go with 100% whole grain wheat.
Oatmeal is also a terrific whole grain, but don't get the "quick oats.
" Go for the rolled oats, because they are less refined than the quick oats.
Whole grains are high in fiber and make you feel full for longer periods of time than the "sugar" carbs.
The best fat loss diet also includes vegetables in that good carb category: broccoli, peas, green beans, cauliflower, okra, spinach, carrots, and yes, fruit.
These will help you burn fat.
They are low in Calories, and have plenty of vitamins.
These short lists of good and bad carbs aren't exhaustive, but hopefully get the idea.
So how much of the good carbs should we eat? In a 2,000 Calorie diet, we should eat a minimum of 125 grams of carbs per day to be safe.
If you want to lose weight and do any kind of exercise essential to burn fat, you will need more than that.
Optimally, at least 40-50% of daily intake should be good carbs, and 10% or less should be the bad carbs.
If enough carbs are not consumed, brain damage, depression, and the breakdown of protein can occur.
The best fat loss diet burns fat from fat stores, whereas extreme low carb diets burn protein as energy, depleting ones body of muscle tissue.
This will also lower the metabolism, causing weight gain, not weight loss.
Knowledge of the right types of carbs, the amount to be eaten daily is an important consideration to make when strategizing your plan to burn fat.
The right carbs burn energy and help us to lose fat the right way.
Low carb diets are not necessarily bad, but the best fat loss diet will utilize carbs low in sugar and high in fiber, such as whole grains and vegetables combined with daily exercise will accelerate our weight loss efforts.
