Sunset and Lowe"s Home Improvement Books Recalled by CPSC

Have you bought a do-it-yourself book from Sunset or Lowe's anytime during the past 35 years or so?

While Lane Publishing Co., Sunset, Lowe's, and Oxmoor House Inc. have published hundreds of titles throughout the past several decades, nine of their book titles contain electrical wiring instructions that could lead to incorrect installation or repair.

The home improvement books published and sold from 1975 to 2009 are being recalled because of faulty wiring instructions and diagrams that could lead to fire or shock hazards.

The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in cooperation with Oxmoor House Inc. Consumers are encouraged to stop using the books and return them to Oxmoor House, which will pay for return shipment fees.

No injuries, incidents or fires have been reported.
