How to Propogate Amaryllis Seeds

    • 1). Place a sheet of newspaper over your working surface so you will be able to easily clean up when you are finished.

    • 2). Make sure your seed tray has drainage holes. If it does not, pierce the bottom of the tray with a sharp knife.

    • 3). Fill the tray evenly with the potting compost.

    • 4). Plant the seeds 2 inches apart at a depth of 1 inch.

    • 5). Moisten the soil with water.

    • 6). Cover the seed tray with plastic wrap to keep in the moisture.

    • 7). Keep the soil moist, and remove the plastic wrap as soon as the seedlings begin to emerge.

    • 8). After the seedlings reach 2 to 3 inches tall, transplant them into individual pots. The plants need to mature for three to four seasons before they will produce flowers.
