How to Remove a Set Nail

    • 1). Place the claw end of the hammer onto the area of the set nail. Slide the claw under the head of the nail and seat the claw securely. The head of the nail should be as deep into the "V" shaped claw as possible.

    • 2). Use the surface that the set nail is mounted into as a support and pull the handle of the hammer down like a lever, this will raise the claw off the surface. The nail should start to slide out of its hole.

    • 3). Turn the hammer around and seat the nail into the claw again. Push the handle of the hammer like a lever using the surface as support. This will keep the nail from bending as you pry it away from the surface. The nail should now come free of the surface.
