How to Make Wax From Soy Beans

    • 1). Obtain a large amount of soy beans. For multiple candle making, five pounds of soy beans is recommended to create enough wax.

    • 2). Press the soy beans using your mechanical press to get the oil out of the beans. You can use a blender to accomplish the same step.

    • 3). Bleach your soybean oil in order to purify and refine it. This will allow you to use the oil for other purposes after creating the wax. Preheat the oil in a pan to 90 degrees Celsius. Use a thermometer to get the exact temperature. Pump the heated oil in your bleaching slurry tank. Add in your clay adsorbent and feed this into your vacuum bleacher. The entire bleaching process may take 15 to 30 minutes, with the temperature range around 80 to 120 degrees Celsius.

    • 4). Heat your hydrogenating machine, allowing it to reach 220 degrees Celsius. Place the soy beans into the machine in order to start creating the wax. This will also allow hydrogenation to take place, double-bonding the soy beans and processing its saturated fats.
