What Does a Tune Up Include for a 2000 Saturn L200?

    Fluid Checks

    • Check the fluid levels weekly on your L200. Keep fluid levels between their minimum (MIN) and maximum (MAX) marks. Some of the fluids to check for are: engine oil--use SAE 5W-30; automatic transaxle/transmission fluid--use DEXRON III; brake and clutch fluids--use DOT 3 brake fluid; engine coolant--use 50/50 mix of DEX-COOL and distilled water; and power steering fluid--use Saturn part No. 21007583.

    Minor Tune-Up Routines

    • You should also periodically check your L200's coolant and fuel systems to make sure that there are no leaking or damaged hoses. Check the air filter and replace it at least every two years or when dirty. Inspect the battery for corrosion and clean it off using baking soda and water; charge the battery if necessary.

    Major Tune-Up Routines

    • Your L200's drive belt, steering and suspension components and exhaust system should be checked every 15,000 miles or each year. Any components appearing to be defective or damaged should be replaced. The fuel filter and spark plugs should be replaced every 100,000 miles.
