New York Fashion Week Street Style Looks for Less: The Accessories

Accessory Inspiration Abounds at Fashion Week

There are nearly as many street style images available this year as there were images from the events taking place at New York Fashion Week, which is a pretty good indication that those outside the shows are showstoppers unto themselves! The stars of this year's street style wars are bloggers and fashionistas, Instagram stars and celebrities, and all brought their A game to fashion week.

We already looked at some of the outerwear trends spotted at Fashion Week, as well as the footwear trends, and today I thought we'd take a look at some of the accessories that were worn and/or carried by this year's street style stars.

Of course, most of these items cost thousands of dollars so we also found some comparable looks for less.

Brightly Colored Bucket Bag

Bucket bags are one of the hottest handbag trends of 2015, so it only makes sense that we saw quite a few being carried by some of New York Fashion Week's most stylish street style stars! As we head toward spring we were particularly drawn to the Ralph Lauren Drawstring Ricky Bag being carried by Helena Bordon. While gorgeous, this bag will set you back $1,750.

Brightly Colored Bucket Bag for Less: Steve Madden BGemmaa Bucket Bag

While this red Steve Madden BGemmaa Bucket Bag ($88 at Macy's) isn't quite as eye-catching as the orange bag from Ralph Lauren, I would be happy to take the similar style and lovely red color in exchange for saving over $1,000!

Fur Keychain

Attached to Helena Bordon's Ralph Lauren Drawstring Ricky Bag was a Fendi Bag Boy Karlito Keychain, which is made out of mink and fox fur in the likeness of Karl Lagerfeld. If you can find this keychain in stores it will set you back $1,750!

Fur Keychain for Less: SHRIMPS Lenny Faux Fur and Leather Keychain

This SHRIMPS Lenny faux fur and leather keychain ($105 at Net-a-Porter) is similar in size to the Fendi version, but the price isn't anywhere near as expensive. It may still be more than you want to pay for a keychain, but this is more of a statement piece than it is something functional.

Black and White Handbag

Trapeze handbags have been popular for a couple of years now so I was surprised to see this black and white trapeze bag from Ralph Lauren being carried at Fashion Week, but it looks like Ralph Lauren has an entire collection of trapeze bags available. While we love the trapeze style, what really caught our eye was the black and white color contrast, which is a timeless combination.

Black and White Handbag for Less: Mini Satchel Bag

Achieve a similar look to the black and white Ralph Lauren handbag with this much more affordable Black and White Mini Satchel Bag ($39 at Dorothy Perkins). The contrast in colors means this is a bag you will be able to carry around year-round, and at this price it isn't much of a splurge!

Double Pom Pom Hat

Accessories designer Emily Kammeyer is seen here wearing a Eugenia Kim Pom Pom Hat, but she is far from the only person we saw sporting this trend at New York Fashion Week. It was a popular choice amongst those trying to stay warm and look fashionable at the same time! The Eugenia Kim version, while cute, tends to cost in the $200 range.

Finding a double pom pom hat for less was actually quite easy! We found this very similar Black Faux Fur Pom Pom Hat on sale for just $9 at Dorothy Perkins!

According to Who What Wear, bandanas are set to make a big comeback this spring. Christina Caradona was spotted at New York Fashion Week in this black and white Flandana Scarf. This one doesn't actually need a look for less as it costs $32 at Urban Outfitters. It's available in black, red, or white.
