How to Discontinue Mobic

    • 1). Reduce your Mobic dosage to the next lowest available dose. In order to lower the dosage, you will need to contact your doctor and explain you wish to discontinue the drug.

    • 2). Take the lower dosage of Mobic as directed until the prescribed course of treatment is complete. If during the first course of dosage reduction you do not automatically go to the lowest dose, you may be required to continue treatment as the doctor tapers off your dosage.

    • 3). Do not skip doses. Skipping doses could result in painful and uncomfortable side effects, as could lowering your dose.

    • 4). Continue to avoid taking over-the-counter NSAID drugs that might increase risk of abdominal bleeding for at least two weeks after discontinuing Mobic. Mobic may stay in your body for as long as three weeks.
