How to Start Remote Assistance

    • 1). Go to your Start menu.

    • 2). Click "Help and Support."

    • 3). Go to the "Tools" menu and click "Offer Remote Assistance." If you don't see such an option, you first need to enable remote assistance. Go to your Start menu and click "Run," write "gpedit.msc" and click "OK." Expand the item labeled "Computer Configuration" and navigate to "Administrative Templates." Once you're there, navigate to "System" and then to "Remote Assistance."

Edit the "Offer Remote Assistance" variable by double-clicking it and selecting "Enable" under the drop down menu. Click "OK" for all property windows after that and try offering remote assistance again.

    • 4). Write the remote computer's IP address or name and click "Connect."
