How to Install a Fuel Filter in a Mazda B2000

    • 1). Locate the fuel filter on the vehicle. The location of the filter varies by year and model. In some cases, it can be accessed from the hood, and is positioned on the driver's wheel well. On other models, it is located near the fuel tank under the vehicle.

    • 2). Use a socket wrench to loosen the bolt holding the fuel-filter mounting bracket to the vehicle. Place a drip pan under the filter to catch any fuel that leaks when you disconnect the fuel lines. Use a wrench to remove the fuel line from both ends of the filter.

    • 3). Inspect the new filter to make sure the O rings are intact. Connect the fuel lines to the ends of the filter, making sure the replacement filter faces the same direction as the old filter.

    • 4). Tighten the mounting bracket bolt to secure the new fuel filter to the vehicle.
