How to Clean an Injen CAI Filter
- 1). Put latex gloves on to protect your hands.
- 2). Hold the filter by the top smaller end outdoors or over a garbage can. Pump the air filter cleaner sprayer to thoroughly coat both sides of the filter from the top to the bottom. Allow the cleaner to soak for 10 minutes, loosening the debris or dirt on the filter.
- 3). Turn a garden hose on to produce a low flow of cool water. Place the end of the hose in the center of the filter and rinse it thoroughly until the water runs clear off the bottom of the filter. The filter should have no traces of dirt or dust on it. Gently shake the water off the filter and set it aside. Let the filter air dry completely.
- 4). Shake the spray can of Injen filter oil. Hold the filter in one hand. Place the spray nozzle about 3 inches away from the filter and depress the spray can nozzle. Spray the entire exterior of the filter with the oil working from top to bottom of each pleat. The oil is red, so you can observe the areas you have sprayed. Allow the oil to penetrate for 20 minutes. Touch up any areas that are lighter red than others, indicating a light coverage.
