How to Style Microbraids

    • 1). Shampoo and condition your microbraids on a biweekly basis. Use a protein based shampoo, such as Mane N Tale, when shampooing. The protein will help rebuild and maintain the elasticity of your hair. Rebuilding the elasticity can help reduce breakage.

    • 2). Rinse your microbraids with an apple cider vinegar and water mixture once you have shampooed and conditioned the braids. By rinsing with the 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water mixture, you will remove the lint build up and residue that tends to appear on microbraids that have been worn for a few weeks.

    • 3). Blot your microbraids dry with a towel and allow them to air dry if they are synthetic. You can also choose to sit underneath a blow dryer if you are using human hair. For synthetic hair, you can still sit underneath a blow dryer if the heat is set to a low level. If you desire to wear a curly microbraids style, you can roll your braids with hair rollers before sitting underneath the blow dryer. Remove the rollers after your braids are completely dry to reveal your curly style.

    • 4). Keep your microbraids moisturized by using a daily moisturizer.
