What Is a Passive Anti Theft Device on a 2007 Honda Pilot?

    • Two passive anti-theft tools are built into the 2007 Honda Pilot: a steering wheel lock and an immobilizer system.

    • The immobilizer system disables the ignition unless the electronic chip in your ignition key is recognized by the computer. The steering wheel locks when you turn it slightly in either direction unless the ignition cylinder is turned to the "ACC" or "RUN" position.

    • If the ignition keys are damaged by heat, water or humidity, the electronic chip may not function properly. Contact a Honda dealer for replacement keys if necessary.
