Christmas crackers have been a traditional novelty for British families since Victorian times.
Crackers are cylindrical in shape and about 12 inches in length comprising of a centre tube and handles at each end.
Crackers these days are beautifully adorned with decorations and lavish designs.
You will need two people, each holding one end of the cracker each.
They then both pull the cracker towards themselves sharply and the cracker rips apart.
When the cracker is pulled apart a small explosive strip inside the cracker makes a loud bang as it explodes.
