Plant Medicine has the Most Effective Compounds for Molluscum

Although molluscum contagiosum is a common skin rash in kids, many parents have never heard of it. The most important thing to know about it is that, for most children, the rash is no big deal and goes away on its own over time. Molluscum is very contagious, and can easily be passed from one person to another. It is unknown how long the rash and virus may be contagious.
Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection of skin. It appears as small, pearl-shaped spots, which are whitish or pink in colour. It can occur at any age but is typically found in children, who often have skin contact with each other. In recent years an increasing number of adults with molluscum contagiosum have been seen at genitourinary medicine clinics.
Molluscum contagiosum is an infection caused by the pox virus. The infection can result from direct contact, including sexual contact, or by indirect contact, such as sharing towels, or from swimming pools. In adults, the virus is often caught from a sexual partner, and this is particularly likely when the pearly lesions are found on penis. The incubation period, from the time of initial contact until the spots appear, is anything from two to eight weeks.
Pink or whitish, pearl-like spots on the face, arms and legs or trunk, which can be one to five mm in diameter, or sometimes larger. If the infection is sexually transmitted, the molluscum may be seen on the genitals, thighs and the lower part of the abdomen. Molluscum contagiosum generally causes no long-term problems, and the growths usually leave no marks.
However, treatments might scar the skin, and some people develop a secondary infection, which can be treated with antibiotics. People with weakened immune systems can get a more serious form of molluscum contagiosum. They typically have more mollusca, especially on the face. The growths are larger, look different, and often are more difficult to treat. In these cases, doctors might prescribe medications that help strengthen the immune system.
Because molluscum contagiosum is contagious and can spread to other parts of the body, someone who's infected should follow these precautions: do not touch, scratch, or rub growths; wash hands often with soap and water; keep areas with growths clean; try to cover each growth with clothing or a watertight bandage, especially before participating in activities in which equipment is shared or skin contact can occur, like swimming and wrestling.
To avoid infection, have your kids follow the tips above. As long as they follow these precautions until all of the bumps are gone, kids with molluscum contagiosum can still go to school or daycare, participate in sports, and play with other children. A person can get molluscum contagiosum again through contact with someone who's infected, but this is rare.
A doctor is likely to recognize molluscum contagiosum just by looking at the rash. The doctor might refer you to a dermatologist, a doctor who specializes in skin diseases. In rare cases, the doctor or dermatologist will take a sample of the bump to look at the cells under a microscope and confirm that the growths are mollusca. Although additional tests are not usually necessary, if someone has bumps in the genital area, the doctor also may test for sexually transmitted diseases.
It's not a serious disease and usually clears up within a few months. It can, however, last for up to two years. Larger and troublesome molluscum contagiosum lesions can be frozen or scraped away under local anaesthesia. However, this treatment is not pleasant for children. Antiseptic applied to the affected areas is helpful only if local infection occurs, which shows as painful red or dark areas around the molluscum spots.
