- 1). Memorize or reference Morse symbols for letters, numbers, and punctuation using a Morse code chart. Memorizing will make it easier for you to type Morse quickly.
- 2). Type the first letter of your word using a period for the dots and a hyphen for the dashes.
- 3). Enter a space between each letter of the word.
- 4). Separate words with a vertical line or forward slash. This will clarify where words begin and end and will make the messages easier to interpret.
- 5). Type out the appropriate dots and dashes for punctuation at the end of the last word of the sentence. Do not put a line to separate it from the final word. It should be a part of the last word. The same holds for commas in the sentence.
